Heretto CCMS 23.5.2

In this release, we added two fixes important to our customers. πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

Fixed

Content Library

  • When you create a new file in Heretto CCMS, you can modify the file name and, provided you have it configured, add metadata to your topic. Previously, if you modified the file name first, then added metadata, your file name changes would get reverted. That is no longer the case. Note that this behavior is still present if you have custom file names configured, for example, to use dashes (-) instead of underscores (_). We will look into that.

Localization

  • We addressed a behavior where the class attribute was not present for topic title elements in localized content which caused publishing issues. Currently, the class attribute is added to all elements, including topic title element and there are no publishing issues in localized content. Note that that behavior was not present for any other elements.

Heretto CCMS 23.5.9

A mighty fix is coming your way! πŸ‘Œ

Fixed

Content Editor

  • Clicking a comment in the Review tab once again takes you to the place in the publication where that comment is added. The issue was present only in Google Chromeβ„’. Note that factors like slow Internet connection or under-performing hardware may affect the performance of this feature.

Known Issues

Content Library

  • This issue affects all Heretto CCMS organization accounts that use version 23.5.9. Based on our investigation, the issue is not present in any other version. When you edit a file and close it, the file gets locked in both Heretto CCMS and Oxygen and you see the lock icon lock icon in the Content Library. You can right-click the file in Heretto CCMS and select Unlock > Save. After you click Save in the Edit commit details window, the window seems to gray out and does not automatically close. Close the window manually and refresh Heretto CCMS in the browser to clear the lock.

    Tip:

You can easily find all locked files by using the Locked by filter available in the Search tab.

You must be an Administrator to unlock files locked by other users.

Heretto CCMS 23.5.16

We have made resolving publishing issues easier, simplified the process of adding a custom plugin in DITA Open Toolkit Cloud, and styled the message block (msgblock) element. πŸ‘Œ

Enhanced

Publishing

  • We enhanced the preflight check view. It's easier to use and provides more details that will help you resolve publishing issues faster. This enhancement is part of a more significant preflight check improvement that we are working on. Stay tuned for more! πŸ”œπŸ˜

  • We simplified the process of customizing a DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) with a custom plugin in our DITA-OT Cloud integration. When you add a custom plugin to a DITA-OT, you no longer need to run the dita install command to install plugins in the DITA-OT. All you need to do is add a custom plugin to your DITA-OT, compress the DITA-OT, and add it to Heretto CCMS. For detailed guidelines, see Prepare and Install a Custom DITA Open Toolkit.

Fixed

Content Editor

  • The message block (msgblock) element is now styled in the Content Editor. ✨

Heretto CCMS 23.5.23

This version brings a number of branching, Content Editor, Content Library, and publishing fixes. πŸ’ͺ🏽 Enjoy!

Fixed

Branching

  • When you branch-replace a file that contains images with the Include linked files (recommended) check box cleared, the file is branched without the related images and the references to images appear broken in the target branch as expected. Previously, the file on the target branch would incorrectly reference images on the source branch. Note that this only happened when the file that you branch-replaced was not yet present on the target branch when branch-replacing.

  • We fixed a branching issue that affected Heretto CCMS organization accounts created before release 23.3.28 that did not opt in for the enhanced default behavior of skipping files in a branch-merge operation. For more information, see the branching enhancement reported in the 23.3 release notes. The issue occurred in two circumstances:

    1. A release was created for a publication (map). Then, a new branch was created from that release. Then, the publication on the original branch was edited.

    2. A new branch was created for a publication (map). Then, the publication on the original branch was edited.

When a user then attempted to branch-merge the publication from the original branch to the other branch, changes made in the publication were not recognized in the branch-merge operation and wouldn't be merged. Currently, those changes are recognized and all edited files in that publication are listed in the branch-merge operation for your review.

Content Editor

  • When working in the Suggesting mode, you can now add lists with multiple nested list items. πŸ”₯

Content Library

  • When you use Adobe Illustrator to convert a PDF to an SVG file, then upload the SVG file into Heretto CCMS, its document type (<!DOCTYPE>) definition, including <!ENTITY> elements, is preserved in the SVG file. As a result, when you download such an SVG file from Heretto CCMS and open it in Adobe Illustrator, the file opens as expected.

Publishing

  • We fixed an intermittent issue that prevented old publishing jobs from being listed in the Output tab.

  • If you have over 100 publishing jobs for a publication, you can consistently scroll through all of them in the Output tab, all the way to the very first publishing job on the list.

  • When you publish with DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) Cloud and the publishing job generates no output, it is now correctly marked as a publishing job that failed failed publishing job icon - red x in the Output tab. Previously, it would be marked as a successful publishing job successful publishing job icon - green tick.

  • When you use the Compare to option in a DITA-OT Cloud publishing scenario that uses DITA-OT 3.5 and is set to publish to PDF output, the publishing job completes as expected. Previously, such a publishing job would fail due to the Compare to option being used. The issue affected both DITA-OT Cloud and Legacy DITA-OT. We applied the fix only to DITA-OT Cloud.

    Note:

The Compare to option is an optional configuration available only for DITA-OT Cloud and Legacy DITA-OT publishing scenarios. For more information, see Optional Configurations for Heretto CCMS Publishing. To enable it, contact your Customer Success Manager.
