  • macOS®

  • Windows®

Internet Connection

Heretto CCMS is a web-based platform that is not designed for offline use. A high-speed internet connection is recommended as loading times and other performance in Heretto CCMS can be affected by a poor internet connection, especially when working with large files or publications.

In the unlikely event of load time issues, consider doing an internet speed test to determine your internet connectivity speed. A high-speed internet connection provides the best experience.

  • WebSockets. Heretto CCMS requires WebSockets to run some parts of the system. These are typically enabled by default on all computers, but can sometimes be blocked by security features of corporate networks. You may need to contact your IT department and ask to have Heretto CCMS whitelisted (ports: 80, 443) so WebSockets are enabled.

  • Security Certificates. Some networks block unknown security certificates. If this happens, you see an invalid certificate exception when trying to access Heretto CCMS. This can be resolved through an update to the Certificate Authority Chain, which your IT department can usually help with.

  • Anti-Virus Software. Some virus scanners and anti-virus software that run in the background can interfere with Heretto CCMS. If you are experiencing sub-optimal performance, check with your IT team to see if your organization has a virus scanner running behind the scenes.

  • Browser extensions. Some browser extensions may interfere with Heretto CCMS. If you experience issues, disable any extensions in your browser or try accessing Heretto CCMS in a private window or incognito mode.

Performance Issues

If you experience performance issues with Heretto CCMS, review the information above. If that is all in order, try these recommendations:

  • Clear the browser cache

  • Close the browser and re-launch Heretto CCMS

  • Check your content for quality and complexity issues. Look for unaddressed Schematron flags, complex or large sets of Schematron rules, or unaddressed content errors that should be resolved before publishing.
