Heretto CCMS Integrations Overview
Authoring Integrations
The Heretto authoring integrations provide additional flexibility for content creation and management. To start using our authoring integrations, you need a relevant third-party license and, in some cases, support from the Heretto team. For details, contact a Heretto representative.
- Content Mapper Integration
- A solution for those who want all the benefits of Heretto CCMS but are not ready to move away from authoring in Microsoft® Word. Content Mapper is only compatible with Windows operating systems.
Licensed: yes, by a third party. Available for Heretto Enterprise subscription.
- HyperSTE Integration
- HyperSTE is a content checker that you can enable in Heretto CCMS through a web browser plugin. It helps align your content to shorten your editing process, save on translation costs, get quality and improvement metrics, and more.
Licensed: yes, by a third party. Available for Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
- MathML Add-On
- MathML enables you to create complex mathematical and scientific equations easily directly in Heretto CCMS. With MathML, there's no need to use graphics that represent equations. Instead, you can simply add and edit them directly in Heretto CCMS.
Licensed: yes, by Heretto. Available for Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
For DITA-OT guidelines, see Equations with MathML.
- oXygen Integration
- An integration with Oxygen XML Editor and Oxygen XML Author that uses the WebDAV protocol. Enables you to edit files hosted in Heretto CCMS in Oxygen without the need to download or upload files. Note: Editing files through Oxygen makes it impossible for multiple authors and contributors to collaborate in one file simultaneously which is possible in the Heretto CCMS Content Editor.
Licensed: yes, by a third party. Available for Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
- Schematron Integration
- Schematron is a rule-based validation language that enables you to set rules you want your authors to follow. Schematron is ideal for enforcing consistent content structures. With Schematron rules in place, Heretto automatically informs authors about any content structures that do not comply with the rules. That happens in real time. Because you can set your own messages for each rule, you can set them so that they work as guidelines for authors.
Apart from integrating Schematron into Heretto CCMS, we also developed a set of rules that you can start with. If you'd like to develop custom Schematron rules, we can recommend our partners.
Licensed: no. Included in Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
Migration Integrations
Heretto provides a built-in option to convert DOCX files into DITA directly in Heretto CCMS. Configuration might be required to enable this option. For details, contact a Heretto representative.
- XMLmind Integration
- If your content needs to be migrated from Microsoft® Word to DITA, you might consider using Heretto integration with XMLmind. It enables you to convert DOCX content into complete DITA structures directly in Heretto CCMS.
Licensed: no, if used directly in Heretto CCMS. Included in Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
Delivery Integrations
In addition to our native delivery solutions like PDF Generator, Heretto Portal or Heretto Deploy API, we also offer a number of delivery integrations. The delivery integrations expand the number of ways you can provide content to your users, including publishing to external servers.
- DITA-OT Integration
- DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) is an open source publishing engine that converts DITA content into multiple output formats, for example, PDF, HTML5, or RTF. By default, DITA-OT applies simple vanilla styling to your content. To apply branded styling, you can develop custom DITA-OT plugins on your own or work with one of our partners. If you're looking for a simpler solution for PDF output, we recommend our PDF Generator, which enables you to create beautiful PDF styling with CSS.
Licensed: no. Open source. Included in Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
For DITA-OT guidelines, see DITA Open Toolkit Cloud Publishing.
- Docusaurus Integration (Deprecated)
- Docusaurus is an open source static site generator built in React. Our integration enables you to easily publish your content directly from Heretto CCMS to a static site. To make hosting the static site super easy for you, we also added support for a well-priced hosting service, Netlify. Our Docusaurus Integration is a great solution for publishing small volumes of simple content to a web site.
Licensed: no. Open source. Included in Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
For Docusaurus guidelines, see Heretto Connector for Docusaurus.
- Webhook Integration
- Webhooks are messages that are automatically exchanged between systems that can trigger actions. For example, after content is successfully published, Heretto CCMS can send a webhook message to an external server. The server can then pull the content from the CCMS and perform any number of additional actions, including publishing the content to a web site or knowledgebase. Webhooks provide a valuable method for integrating Heretto CCMS in an enterprise content architecture.
Licensed: not applicable. Available for Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription. Note that additional fees apply for the configuration of webhooks. For details, contact a Heretto representative.
For Webhook guidelines, see Webhooks.
Localization Integrations
By default, Heretto CCMS includes the ability to manually create XLIFF, source, and media packages for localization purposes. Heretto also has an integration with XTM Cloud available. For details, contact a Heretto representative.
- XTM Integration
- The XTM Integration is a great option for any translation team that is tired of sending and receiving translation packages through email and manually downloading and uploading content. Heretto CCMS and XTM directly exchange files with just a few clicks. From XTM Cloud, you can easily manage all aspects of your localization jobs.
Licensed: yes, by Heretto or a third party. Available for Heretto Enterprise subscription and Team subscription.
For XTM guidelines, see Localization Overview.
