Heretto CCMS 22.33 brings a number of additions, fixes, and enhancements to the Administration interface, Assignments and Review, Content Editor, Content Library, Localization, and Reports. Enjoy! 🥳

Release Date

General Availability - December 23, 2022

Administration

The Administration interface now indicates that Plugins will be retired.

Added

  • This update is important if you publish your content with the DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) publishing engine.

If you are assigned the Administrator role in Heretto, you will notice that we added a LEGACY label next to Plugins in the Administration interface. The label indicates that we are getting close to retiring the Plugins interface and replacing it with a new, more efficient and powerful integration with the DITA-OT publishing engine. We've been working with our customers to prepare them for this change. If you use DITA-OT and would like to learn more, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

Assignments and Review

Assignments and Review got two fixes that we're sure you'll be happy about!

Fixed

  • We fixed an issue when you opened an assignment from the Heretto Inbox or the Assignments interface, the editing modes Viewing, Commenting, and Suggesting were not fully respected. We addressed that and now you can view, comment, suggest, and edit content in the Assignments interface as expected. ✌🏽

  • When you issue an assignment, emails are sent to users added to workflow steps in the assignment. From that email, you can open the assignment by clicking Open Assignment. It's a very convenient way of making sure that everyone who needs to contribute to a document is notified that the document is ready for them. There was an issue that prevented you from opening files directly from the assignment notification email. We are happy to inform you that it's fixed now. 😊

Content Editor

We added a new feature to the link toolbar and introduced a number of fixes in the Content Editor. 🤩

Added

  • Inline links, that are added with the cross-reference element (xref), are often used to help readers navigate through content. We added a new option to the link toolbar, Scroll to target, that takes you to the target of a link in the Content Editor. Now you can use links while authoring just like your audience would in the output! ✍

Fixed

  • We identified an issue that affected editing footnotes that could cause the Content Editor to become unresponsive. You can now add, edit, and remove footnotes without issue again. 🦶📝

  • Previously, undefined height and width values for SVG files were interpreted by the system as 0 values, which resulted in an error and the image not appearing as expected in the Content Editor. We addressed that behavior and SVG files with undefined height and width values can be added and viewed in the Content Editor as expected.

  • When adding a content reference (conref) or inserting a link (xref), you sometimes first click an element or a file and then realize that you need to conref or link something else. Previously, if you did that, the action would not complete and you needed to repeat the steps again. We addressed that behavior and now even when you change your mind in the middle of adding a conref or a link, it is added as expected. 🙌🏻

Content Library

We added two handy enhancements to the Content Library.

Enhanced

  • We alphabetized the Content Type filter list in the Search tab. Having these in alphabetical order surely makes it easier to filter through folders and search results. 😊

  • In a folder that contains multiple files, when you scroll down, click a file to see its details then open and close the file, your location in the folder is maintained and the file is highlighted.

Localization

The Last updated date for Source Packages is set to the upload date.

Fixed

  • If you create localization jobs from releases and work with Source Packages, you'll be happy to know that when you upload localized content to Heretto, the Last updated date in the localization job details view is correctly set to the upload date.

Reports

The Reports interface got some love too! ❤️

Enhanced

  • Heretto has a number of reports that enable you to quickly get information about your content. One of those reports is Linked Topics out of Map Scope Report that helps you to verify if your document links to files that are not part of that publication to avoid broken links. In the past, that report was only viewable in a browser but now, you can also download it as a CSV file. 📑

Fixed

  • We addressed a behavior where some reports, for example, Map Status Report and Linked Topics out of Map Scope Report, would open the location of a file instead of the file itself. 💪🏻
