DITA Attributes Report Replacement

The legacy DITA attributes report provided a downloadable CSV of all attributes and their values present in a given map and its dependencies. You can use Find & Replace and the Quality Report to replace this legacy report.

Find & Replace

With Find & Replace, you can search for one or more attributes or attribute values within one or more maps or folders, or an entire branch. This is an improvement over the DITA attributes report for two reasons:

  • You can narrow the search to a specific attribute or attribute value at the time you create your search

  • You can tailor the search scope to be as narrow or broad as needed

For details on configuring and using this feature, see Find & Replace (Beta).

Quality Report

With the Quality Report, you can easily get a list of topics or maps that have duplicate ID values. For details on configuring and using this feature, see Quality Report.

Folder Keys Report Replacement

The legacy folder keys report listed all keys defined in a given folder, including where they were defined and where they were used. You can use Find & Replace and the Reuse Report to replace the legacy report.

Find & Replace

With Find & Replace, you can search a folder and its sub-folders to find key definitions (keydef), key references (keyref) and content key references (conkeyref). For details on configuring and using this feature, see Find & Replace (Beta).

Reuse Report

With the Reuse Report (Insights), you can review the variables (keys) in use at the map, folder or branch level. Variables use, as well as unused variables, are listed at the bottom of the report. For details on configuring and using this feature, see Reuse Report (Insights).

Folder Structure Report Replacement

The legacy folder structure report organized by folder a list of all files and folders within the selected folder, and provided a downloadable CSV. You can use the Insights (Beta) Content Report to get similar information.

Content Report

The Content Report (Insights) is not a one-to-one replacement for this legacy report. However, you can configure the Content Report to provide very similar information, and then use the CSV in a spreadsheet application to explore the results.

In the Content Report, we recommend adding the Directory Path column to your report. The directory path provides the location information that the legacy report was based on. When you download the CSV, you can use the text to columns option in the spreadsheet application to split out the directory path column into several columns for easier visualization of the folder structure.

Invalid Keyrefs and Conkeyrefs Report Replacement

For a selected map, the legacy report listed any topics with invalid (unresolved) key references (keyref) or content key references (conkeyref). You can use a combination of the Quality Report, Reuse Report, and Find & Replace to replace this report.

Quality Report

The Quality Report includes information on invalid conrefs, and conkeyrefs. We recommend running the Quality Report on delivery-level maps to avoid possible false positive data. A delivery map should contain all resources for resolving keyrefs and conkeyrefs. For details on configuring and using this feature, see Quality Report.

Reuse Report

With the Reuse Report (Insights), you can review the variables (keys) in use at the map, folder or branch level. Variables use, as well as unused variables, are listed at the bottom of the report. For details on configuring and using this feature, see Reuse Report (Insights).

Find & Replace

With Find & Replace, you can search a folder and its sub-folders to find key definitions (keydef), key references (keyref) and content key references (conkeyref). For details on configuring and using this feature, see Find & Replace (Beta).

Linked Topics Out Of Map Scope Report Replacement

This legacy report examined a map and its submaps. It listed outgoing links to topics that were not in the map being examined (thus, out of map scope). You can use the Quality Report to replace this legacy report.

Quality Report

The Quality Report includes information on topics that are outside the map scope. The Quality Report provides the ability to open out of scope topics directly from the report. We recommend running the Quality Report on delivery-level maps to avoid possible false positive data.

The current Quality Report doesn't include these legacy report options:

  • The ability to automatically add an out-of-scope topic to the map

  • The ability to view link chains

For details on configuring and using this feature, see Quality Report.

Map Status Report Replacement

This legacy report showed, in a browser tab, the file status and other details for the content of the selected map. You can use the Content Report to replace this report.

Content Report

The Content Report (Insights) provides all of the information from the legacy report, except whether content has been updated since the last release was created. The new Content Report also includes robust chart and filtering capabilities, as well as the option to download the report as a CSV file. For details on configuring and using this feature, see Content Report (Insights).

Not Used Web Report Replacement

This legacy report listed the files in a selected folder that were not referenced by any other files. Heretto is planning to release additional report functionality soon that will replace this legacy report.

Topic Reuse Report Replacement

This legacy report showed all files that are dependencies of more than one of the selected maps. You can use the Reuse Report to replace this report.

Reuse Report

The Reuse Report (Insights) provides an extensive reuse analysis of maps, folders, or branches. For details on configuring and using this feature, see Reuse Report (Insights).

Unapproved From Approved Topics Report Replacement

This legacy report listed unapproved topics that are linked to by topics with the Approved status for a selected map. You can use the Content Report to replace this report.

Content Report

The Content Report (Insights) is not a one-to-one replacement for this legacy report. However, you can configure the Content Report to provide very similar information, and then use the CSV in a spreadsheet application to explore the results.

For details on configuring and using this feature, see Content Report (Insights).
