Quality Report

Note:

This feature is currently in Beta and available to a limited group of customers. General availability for all Heretto customers will follow the conclusion of the Beta phase. Full rollout dates will be shared when available.

Note:

During the Beta phase, only users assigned the Administrator role can access and use Insights reports. Following full rollout, all users with authoring permissions (Author, Editor/Manager, and Administrator) will be able to use Insights.

The Quality Report gives your team visibility into the health of your content without requiring you to inspect files one at a time. Rather than discovering broken links, invalid structures, or metadata errors only when they surface downstream, you can run the report against a map and see exactly where issues exist and how severe they are.

The Quality Report scans the content in a given map for schema, rule, and link-based issues, then presents the results as summarized counts, a filterable issue listing, and trends over time. It gives your team a structured way to understand not just whether quality issues exist, but where they're concentrated and whether they're improving or worsening.

The Quality Report is most valuable in these areas:

Pre-release cleanup

Before creating a release and publishing, run the report on a map to catch broken links, invalid structures, and other issues before they reach delivery endpoints.

Trend monitoring

Category trending shows whether particular kinds of issues (linking, validation, metadata) are increasing or decreasing over time, helping you decide where to invest in authoring training or tooling.

Bulk triage

Rather than fixing issues one topic at a time as you encounter them, the issue listing lets you group, sort, and export issues so you can plan and prioritize remediation work at scale.

Quality Report Operation and Guidelines

Access
  • Available only to users assigned the Administrator role during the Beta phase.

Severity levels
  • Every issue is assigned one of four severities: blocker, error, warning, or info.

  • A duplicate topic ID is treated as an error; a duplicate element ID is treated as a warning or info.

Filtering
  • Filters apply to issue type/category, severity, context, and found date range.

  • Filter selections persist for your session.

Known limitations
  • Reports must be run manually; there's no scheduled or activity-triggered option yet.

  • There's no way to backfill historical trend data or manage the trend collection schedule from the interface yet.

Run a Quality Report

Run a report to see up-to-date quality results for a map or folder. Running a report is the first step to reviewing quality issues, filtering them, or tracking trends.

To complete this procedure, you must be assigned the Administrator role in Heretto CCMS, and the Quality Report must be enabled for your organization.

  1. Click the map you want to evaluate.
  2. In the Resource Drawer that opens on the right, click the Quality tab for that map or folder.
  3. Click Run Quality Scan.

Once the report finishes running, the Issues tab opens with summary counts and issue listing. You can filter the data by Type / Category and Severity. You can also sort each column and search the Topic and Message columns.

  4. To fix issues, read the details provided in the message for a topic, click the file name of that topic, and inspect it in a new tab.
    Tip:

Sometimes, one file contains more than one issue. If that is the case, it is listed multiple times in the report. To save time, sort the results by topic and fix all issues in a topic before proceeding to the next one.

You ran the Quality Report on a map or folder and fixed related issues.

View the Quality Report Overview

View the Overview tab of a Quality Report to see summarized issue counts and trends.

To complete this procedure, you must be assigned the Administrator role in Heretto CCMS, and the Quality Report must be enabled for your organization.

  1. Click the map you want to evaluate.
  2. In the Resource Drawer that opens on the right, click the Quality tab for that map or folder.
  3. Optional: To view the latest details for the map, click Run Quality Scan.

If you skip this step, you'll see data from the latest scan, which may be outdated. Once you re-run the report, the data from the previous scan gets permanently overwritten. Currently, it is not possible to save the results of a Quality Report.

  4. Review the breakdowns and trends to see which types of issues are most common and how they're changing over time.

The Overview tab shows summary counts, category and severity breakdowns, and trend charts for the report.

You reviewed the summary results of the Quality Report. If you've run the report multiple times over time for a map, the Overview tab shows trends in your content. Use the breakdowns and trends to understand the impact of issues and how they change over time.
