Next-Generation Infrastructure for Heretto CCMS
We're proud to bring you the next level of Heretto CCMS with a new, state-of-the-art foundation built to improve performance, deliver unparalleled scalability, and pave the way for future innovation. This is a big moment for Heretto and our customers.
Over the last two years, we've been working on a complete overhaul of our backend architecture. We applied the lessons we've learned from 15+ years in this market and thought deeply about what an agentic future will demand of a CCMS.
The result is our Next-Gen Infrastructure: a unified, modern architecture that brings those lessons to life and prepares our customers for the next era of content operations.
Faster performance and expanded scalability
We've massively improved the performance of many operations, such as branching, quality scans, large content downloads, and localization workflows. Scalability has also gotten a huge upgrade, enabling support of the largest content sets and more complex workflows. We're confident that as needs grow and evolve, this foundation will easily keep up with the most demanding future workloads.
New and improved functionality
While it's all under the hood, many of the current functions of Heretto CCMS were limited by our previous infrastructure. This upgrade unlocks our ambitious plans to bring you new capabilities faster and improve the ones you already use.
It's just the beginning!
Performance and scalability have been our focus, and we're only getting started with what the new foundation enables us to deliver.
- New Features
-
-
Enhanced Search: Search inside the file, not just its title and file name, by selecting full-text in the search bar drop-down, and find a topic or map by its DITA
idattribute value. Saved searches and sorting in the search bar drop-down are also now available. Updated docs are coming soon. For current docs, see Search. -
Advanced Find & Replace (Beta): Search a branch, folder, or map across all your XML files at once, then refine with options like case, whole words, or a specific element or attribute, up to regex and XPath. Find is available in Beta now, and Replace follows in a later phase. See No Content found for /db/organizations/jorsek/repositories/production-heretto/product/documents/Get-Started/find-and-replace.dita.
-
Insights (Beta): Analyze your content at scale across a branch, folder, or map with three new reports: Content for what's in your content set, Localization for translation progress, and Reuse for how much content is shared. See Reports (Beta).
-
Quality Report (Beta): Scan a map or folder on demand to find broken links, invalid structures, and metadata errors, ranked by severity and tracked over time. See Quality Report.
-
Extracted Metadata (Beta): Pull values that already exist in your DITA files into reports for filtering, without adding anything to the files themselves. See Metadata Governance in Heretto CCMS and Extracted Metadata Configurations.
-
Delivery Maps: Mark the maps that represent complete deliverables, such as a user guide or help center, so reports measure those instead of every map in your content set. See Delivery Maps.
-
- API Improvements
-
-
New localization REST APIs: A new set of endpoints for managing localization work programmatically. Documentation is coming soon.
-
Commit-Scoped File Changes: The REST API can now group related file changes into one commit, so they appear together in the activity feed and resource history with a single message. Documentation is coming soon.
-
- Quality-of-Life Improvements
-
-
Faster, smoother link management: New link management system better tracks broken links and handles automatically healing broken links when matching content becomes available.
-
More room to grow: The platform now supports a 100x increase in scale, so you can expand content volume and run multi-brand rollouts without hitting platform limits.
-
Fewer disruptions: Whole classes of bugs and edge case failures are eliminated at the source, so the CCMS behaves more predictably day to day.
-
Faster fixes: A shorter path from backlog to production means enhancements ship sooner and support resolves issues more quickly.
-
Important changes
While the Next-Gen Infrastructure is almost full parity with the legacy system, there are currently some important changes.
