File History

Use the History tab to see a file's history and compare the current version to previous versions and to restore a file to a previous state.

Heretto CCMS maintains an exhaustive audit history for each file in the content library. Each time a file is closed, Heretto CCMS creates a revision that's saved as part of the file history. You also have the option to manually commit and save a file, creating a revision in the file's history.

Restore a File Revision

Restore a file to a previous state, creating a new revision in the file history.

  1. In the content library click a file and in the right pane, select History.
  2. From the left pane, select the revision you want to restore.
  3. Click Restore.
  4. Click OK.

The Edit the commit details dialog appears.

  5. Optional: Change the status of the file.
  6. Optional: Enter a comment for the restore.
  7. Click Save.
The revision is restored and becomes the current revision. If you changed the status of the file, this will show in the content library and Resource Viewer Pane. If you left a comment in the commit dialog, the comment will show in the History tab.

Compare File Revisions

Compare the revisions of a file to view changes made between revision events. The comparison highlights text indicating content that was removed. Removed content is highlighted in red and struck through. Added content is highlighted in green and underlined.
  1. In the content library click a file and in the right pane, select History.
  2. Select the revision you want to compare with.
For example, if you want to compare a previous revision to the current version, select Current.
  3. To compare the selected revision with another revision, click Compare with selected for that revision.
