Source Language

The source language of a map or a topic specifies the content language for a translation provider.

Tip: By default, the resources that you create in Heretto CCMS may not include any source language information. Heretto can configure your topic and map templates to automatically include the default source language information.

Set a Map Source Language

You set the source language of a map by assigning a relevant xml:lang attribute value to the map root element.

  1. In the content library, double-click a map.
  2. In the map tree, hover over the map element and click the wrench icon.
  3. Fill in the lang field with a relevant language code.
For more information on language codes, see Language Codes Reference.

Set a Topic Source Language

You set the source language of a topic by assigning a relevant xml:lang attribute value to the topic root element.

  1. In the content library, double-click a topic.
  2. In the Content Editor, place your cursor in any element.
  3. On the right, click Attributes.
  4. In the Attributes pane, at the top, from the Element drop-down menu, select the element that corresponds with the topic type that you opened.
    • For a task topic, select Task
    • For a concept topic, select Concept
    • For a reference topic, select Reference
  5. With the root topic element selected enter a relevant language code in the lang field.
For more information on language codes, see Language Codes Reference.
