Equations with MathML

The MathML add-on enables you to create complex mathematical and scientific equations in a math-specific editor. To use it, you need to purchase a MathML license. For details, contact a Heretto representative.

Insert an Equation

You add an equation to your topic by inserting a mathml element.

  1. In the Content Library, double-click a topic.
  2. Put your cursor at the location where you want to insert the equation and on the toolbar, click the square root button square root icon.
    The system inserts the equation editor with an example equation (a+b).
  3. Edit the equation by doing the following:
    1. Click the example equation and select Edit in the context menu.

    2. In the equation editor, edit the equation as needed.

      Tip: You can hand write an equation by clicking handwriting icon. Return to the main equation editor interface by clicking keyboard icon .

    3. Click Save.
      The equation editor closes and you see your equation in the topic.

Tip: You can edit or remove an equation at any time by clicking the equation once and clicking Remove in the context menu.

Edit an Equation

You can quickly edit equations that need to be updated.

  1. In the Content Library, double-click a topic.
  2. Click the equation and from the context menu select Edit.

  3. Make any needed changes and click Save.

Remove an Equation

You can quickly remove equations that you no longer need from your topics.

  1. In the Content Library, double-click a topic.
  2. Click the equation and from the context menu select Remove.
